The capital of Vietnam is the second-largest city in the country, with more than 7 million people calling it home. The city has an important place in the country’s history, as it’s been its capital for ages. In fact, Hanoi was established on the grounds where the ancient city of Hue laid. In fact, in October 2010, the city celebrated a full thousand years of existence! This makes it one of the oldest continuously-existing cities on the planet.

There are many artifacts of the glorious past of Hanoi, all around the city. Some of the must-visit sights of Hanoi include the Old Quarter, Van Mieu better known as The Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, the Presidential Palace, etc. In fact, there are so many important buildings in Hanoi, making it impossible to check them all out in one or two days. Instead, in order to get a true feeling of Vietnam’s capital, you would need to spend at least a month in the city.

Apart from the rich history, Hanoi is celebrated for its vibrant lifestyle as well. In the recent couple of years, Hanoi has become the shopping capital of southeastern Asia. There are hundreds of shopping malls around the city, covering many acres of land. Hanoi is also famous for its local cuisine. Actually, some of the most popular dishes of Asian cuisine originate from this city, including banh cuon and pho.

Finding the Best Hotel in Hanoi

In every city that’s large as Hanoi, the location of the accommodation can mean quite a lot. You surely don’t want to stay on the outskirts of the city, as you would need hours to get through traffic to the city center. But, you also don’t want to stay in a downtown building, where the noise might keep you awake all night.

Of course, it’s not only the location that’s important, but the amenities that the hotel offers. On top of everything, you surely don’t want to spend all your travel money on a hotel room. This is why choosing a stay is far from being an easy job. We know that, which is why we’ve decided to help you out. Here are 10 hotels in Hanoi that fit all the criteria mentioned above!

1.      Hanoi Little Town Hotel

This charming boutique hotel is located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, in a street that’s filled with small family restaurants, as well as a number of other hotels. The street called Hang Luoc is also famous for being the place with lots of fashion boutiques, all offering luxury goods at very affordable prices.

Speaking of luxury, the hotel offers exclusive amenities at fairly cheap rates. Each of 25 rooms in the luxury hotel features an air-conditioner, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, and a private bathroom. If you thought you can’t get these amenities without splashing out huge sums of cash, you were wrong! The cost of one-night stay for two at Hanoi Little Town Hotel is less than 40 US dollars.

2.      Elegant Suites Westlake

This hotel seems ideal for those who prefer relaxing along the poolside, instead of roaming the old parts of the city. Elegant Suites Westlake offers everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel. It has a fitness center, sauna, an outdoor swimming pool, etc. On top of that, the rooms in the hotel are finely furnished, with comfy beds and private bathrooms. In fact, you are bound to get a good night’s sleep if you stay at Elegant Suites Westlake as the hotel is located in a quiet part of the city called Quang An. Actually, the hotel is situated just a couple hundred meters from the lake Ho Tay.

If you want to stay in one of 135 rooms at Elegant Suites Westlake, you would need to pay about $100 per night. The good news is that most of the rooms can fit at least two people, meaning that the price for one person should be even less.

3.      Silk Path Boutique Hanoi

Here’s another boutique hotel in the very heart of Hanoi. However, unlike Hanoi Little Town Hotel, this one is located in an even quieter part of the city. Actually, the hotel is overlooking the Hoan Kiem Lake, which is sometimes referred to as the Lake of the Returned Sword in honor of an ancient Vietnamese legend.

Everything about this boutique hotel seems awesome – it’s location, service, room amenities, and even its price. Staying at one of 33 rooms of Silk Path Boutique Hanoi is a privilege that most people can afford. One night for two stands at the cost of about 80 US dollars!

4.      Pan Pacific Hanoi
