The Ayre Gran Vía is located on the Plaza de España which leads to the city’s trade fair ground or the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre. This trade centre is one of the largest in Europe and hosts more than 80 trade fairs annually.

It is also right at the bottom of the Montjuic – on which stands the Montjuic castle. Built in the 1600s during the War of the Reapers, this castle was used throughout history as a spot from where Barcelona was bombed time and again and after that served as a prison until 1960.

Right up the Hill is the Magic Fountain where the annual pyromusical festival La Merce takes place – combining water with fireworks and music. The National Art Museum of Catalonia – which hosts various types of works ranging from the Catalan art of The Roman period right up to the 20th century – is there too. One gets their fair share of history, culture and fun!

For the shopaholics, Right opposite to the hotel is the vibrant “Las Arenas”, the bullfighting-arena-turned-shopping-centre which has plenty of restaurants, shops etc. The La Rambla is nearby as well. Other popular places within a three km range are Sants Estacio, Plaça Catalunya, Casa Batllo, Picasso Museum and the Sagrada Familia.
